Fishy leaves, 魚腥草.
I heard from my uncle Lee Ah Su and a plant seller in SS2 taking about the plant safe a lot people in Hongkong. This plant is called Fishy leaves, 魚腥草.
A few years back (between the months of November 2002 and July 2003), the was SARS in Hong kong. Many people 8,096 known infected cases and 774 deaths (a case-fatality rate of 9.6%) worldwide being listed in the World Health Organization's (WHO) 21 April 2004 concluding report were infected by SARS.
This fishy leaves were used to be the medicine to treat SARS patient. The method to use these fishy leaves were boil with water and drink the water.
According to my uncle, he said those who has diarrea non-stop also can take this Fishy leaves.
Why is it called Fishy leaves, this is because the leave has the fishy smell when you squeence it with your fingers.
This Fishy leaves also can make into soup, the Chinese clear soup with some meat. It taste delicious with aroma when it is in soup.
